House of Tudor | Hammered Silver
Edward VI (1547-1553)
Silver Sixpence
Fine silver issue (1551-3), Tower mint
Facing bust, rose left, value VI right, mm. y, 3.04g (S.2483 (var), ESC. 1938 (var)). Extremely rare obverse die with Irish title reading 'HIBER' instead of 'HIB'. Traces of an old crease but a good portrait regardless, better than VF and nicely toned.
