Offa (757-796)
Silver Penny
Light coinage (c.780?-792), Canterbury
Obv. OFFA REX in two lunettes divided by a line of pellets with a cross at each end, R. EHE LNOT in two lines divided by a solid line with an ornament at each end, moneyer Ethelnoth, 1.24g (S.904, N.286). Surface porosity and slight discolouration to the obverse, but well struck and without problems, good very fine.
Unusual and possibly unpublished with the solid line dividing the moneyers name.
