Charles I (1625-1649)
Silver Crown
Tower mint, Group III, 3rd horseman, type 3a
mm. crown/crown over bell, 29.64g (S. 2758, Francis 29, FRC dies XVI/XX*, Brooker 258 (this coin), N.2195). An extremely rare die combination with only a single example noted by Cooper in the 'seven major collections' examined by him. Small flan faw by obverse mint mark and weakness to legend in one area but beautifully toned and nearly EF.
