Oxford mint, declaration issue, 1644, reads 1044 OX
mm. plume, lozenges in field, 5.83g (S.2975, Brooker 939-41 obv; N.2450). Reverse die not in Brooker. Tiny edge snick at 3 o'clock, flan dished and portrait weak as usual. Nearly VF for issue and a very rare variety.
