Nottingham mint, moneyer Oswold, +ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGL, rev. +OSPOLD MO SNOT, 1.42g, (S.1152, N.775). Peck marks both sides but very fine or better

Note:
Only three examples noted by Jonsonn in Studies in late Anglo-Saxon coinage. Only two examples listed in EMC/SCBI, this being higher grade than either listed. We are not aware of any other Aethelred II Helmet type pennies for Nottingham on the market since at least the late 1980's apart from this specimen and one other specimen in the vendor's collection
