House of Stuart | Scottish & Irish

James VI (1567-1625)
Silver Ten Shillings
1593, seventh coinage
Standing bust right, rev. three thistles, crown above, 6.08g, (S.5493). A superb example with an old tone over original brilliance, struck on a full round flan. Small metal flaw behind the king's head barely detracts from this superior example, extremely fine
