Class I, crown similar to that of Group B unites, mm. plume, (S.2690, N. -, Schneider 134 (same dies)). Slightly irregular at the top but no clear sign of mounting, otherwise extremely fine, rare.

Note: On a ticket with his coin, Schneider notes 'a Briot "model" coin?'. It is likely that these pieces were struck from dies prepared by Briot as 'models' for his engravers. At this time Briot began work on his own milled issue and he provided a larger than normal number of master punches and carefully executed proofs for his workers. It appears that some of the dies were subsequently released for general use.
