House of Lancaster | Hammered Gold

Henry IV (1399-1413)
Gold Noble
Light coinage, 1412-1413
Annulet and slipped trefoil on side of ship, rev. slipped trefoil in second quarter, h to centre with pellet left, 6.87g, (S.1715, N.1355, Lockett IV, 3997 - same dies). Obverse slightly off-centre but full weight, some weakness as often found with this issue, sharp where fully struck up and better than very fine thus.
Note: Though the heavy coinage nobles are by far the rarest, all nobles of Henry IV are hard to find.
