House of Stuart | Milled Silver

William III (1694-1702)
Silver Sixpence
1697, third laureate bust right, rev. crowned cruciform shields, later harp, (SCBC 3538, ESC 1233)
Light tone, reflective fields and with a sharp portrait, much as struck
Collecting hints:
There are many varieties of William III sixpence. The coin offered here is a common type but still desireable in the highest grades. Other types such as the second bust coins, and a little less so those with plumes or roses in the angles of the reverse are rare and much harder to obtain in the highest grades
